Wine
From a land of great history, from the capital of Magna Grecia, from the land that produces 90% of the Calabrian wine, an important choice is born to dedicate our passion to our history. A wine that was born in Crotone where the Greeks developed effective viticulture techniques, favoring the cultivation of the vine and the production of wine, until they became an integral part of the cultures and rituals of the local population.
Our Wine, a mix of history and passion
Timasitheus — Red Wine
Timasitheus (Ancient Greek: Τιμασίθεος) was an athlete who was victorious several times in the pankration at the Olympic and Pythian Games, and was also distinguished as a brave soldier. 512 BC, sixty-seventh Olympiad, in the final of the fight two crotoniates face off: Timasitheus and old Milone, the latter the winner of the previous six Olympics. During this confrontation all crotoniate something unexpected happens: Timasitheus kneels, does not compete. Milone is proclaimed winner for the seventh time. Was Timasitheus a coward? No! If he had been afraid and fled his name would have been forgotten by history, this was the fate of all the cowards and the various defeated athletes. The young crotoniate showed his respect for a true legend, a true hero, a symbol of Crotone.

Kroton — Rosé Wine
It would have been Hercules who founded the city in honor of his friend Kroton, killed by mistake in place of the thief Lacinius who had stolen some oxen from him. To honor his friend who had hosted him, Hercules made him bury with solemn ceremony on the banks of the Esaro stream and then near the tomb he raised the city that took his name. It is pleasing with appetizers of Mediterranean cuisine, very suitable for soups, white meat, eggs and casseroles.
Milon — Barrique Red Wine
Milone di Crotone was an ancient Greek wrestler. Together with the Olympic victories, according to the historian Diodoro Siculo, Milone was the leader who allowed Crotone to defeat the powerful army of the rival city of Sibari in 510 BC. It is also believed that Milone was an adept or, at least, a sympathizer of the philosopher Pythagoras. According to a legend, Milone would have saved Pythagoras from the collapse of a roof. Another story claims that Milon married the philosopher’s daughter, Myia. He died apparently devoured by a pack of wolves who surprised him while he was stuck in the trunk of an old tree.
